I was very cautious about the claim that the device allows concurrent running of applications software on multiple machines using a single dongle, so I requested a 2-port device (SmarterX-2) on 10 days free trial. I tried it with two software packages and to my total amazement it worked with both. Is this the end of the dongle as we know it?

This device will take an HDCP signal, and strip the DRM converting it to a usable analogue stream. Useful for anyone who does not want to upgrade their monitor to play HD content when Vista rolls out.

<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/07/15/spatz-techs-dvimagic-killing-on-hdcp/">Spatz-Tech's DVIMAGIC</a>

Also, there are a few DVD players which can be made region free with the punch of a few buttons, enabling users to view DVD's from around the world.
